The NomaD Band is led by San Francisco Drummer Damon Hope (NomaD)  who has been touring and recording the last few decades as a prominent sideman, bandleader, educator, and composer.

Born in Chicago and Raised in Indianapolis, he started playing guitar/trumpet at the age of 5 and quickly switched to the drums after seeing Animal from the Muppet Show on T.V. He then was inspired to join the neighborhood, grade school, high school, & municipal symphonic bands performing anything from classical
to rock n roll at the local street show or school concerts.

Damon pursued a degree in classical percussion/drum set at the Columbia College Chicago and then moved to Boston to enroll at Berklee College of Music to finish his studies where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Since his move to San Francisco, as a performer and writer Damon immediately started working with such distinctive artists as Maria Muldaur, Merl Saunders, Vince Welnick, Mood Food, in addition as a sought after educator.
